Taxonomic discussion: Considered a junior synonym of R. umbilicus by some (e.g., Backman and Hermelin, 1986).

Distinguishing features: Large to very large (~>9µm), broadly elliptical reticulofenestrids with broad tube and narrow central area that can be distinctly quadrate or lens-shaped.
