Amaurolithus tricorniculatus

Classification: ntax_cenozoic -> Nannolith families inc sed -> Ceratolithaceae -> Amaurolithus -> Amaurolithus tricorniculatus
Sister taxa: A. brevigracilis, A. delicatus, A. primus, A. tricorniculatus, A. sp.

Taxonomy:

Citation: Amaurolithus tricorniculatus (Gartner, 1967) Gartner and Bukry, 1975
Rank: Species
Basionym: Ceratolithus tricorniculatus Gartner, 1967
Variants: A. bizzarus (Bukry, 1973) Gartner and Bukry, 1975 [Ceratolithus] - an ornate variant of A. tricorniculatus, with additional spines. (NB In the original publication the species-name was spelt bizzarus, so it cannot be corrected to bizarrus, even though that would appear a more logical spelling).

Distinguishing features: Right arm extended into apical spur.
