Calcidiscus leptoporus subsp. small

Classification: Coccolithophores -> Coccolithales -> Calcidiscaceae -> Calcidiscus -> C. leptoporus group -> Calcidiscus leptoporus -> Calcidiscus leptoporus subsp. small
Sister taxa: C. leptoporus subsp. leptoporus, C. leptoporus subsp. quadriperforatus, C. leptoporus subsp. small,

Citation: Calcidiscus leptoporus subsp. small sensu Young et al., 2003
Rank: sub-species
Synonyms: Calcidiscus leptoporus type A of Kleijne 1993
Notes & discussion: This is almost certainly a discrete sub-species, but it has not been cultured and the holococcolith phase is not known. If the holococcolith has been described previously it will provide the sub-species name.

Distinguishing features: liths <5µm, sutures often complex
