Distinguishing features: Small loxolith coccoliths with multiple central area radial bars supporting a central spine.


Daughter taxa: (blue => in age window 0-800Ma)
Small (4-5 µm), bicyclic, with about 14 birefringent central area bars merging to form a central longitudinal bar/structure.
Very small (2-.5-3.5 mm) with a narrow rim, about 12 central area radial bars - Late Jurassic
Very small (2.5-3.5 µm) with 9-12 central area radial bars - Early Cretaceous
