Taxonomy:
Distinguishing features: Medium sized, bicyclic placolith with dark outer-cycle, slightly brighter inner cycle and relatively wide central-area (approximately same width as shields). In SEM a central-area net is evident.
Farinacci & Howe catalog pages: C. cassus *
Morphology: The distal shield appears to be bicyclic: the outer cycle elements are joined along distinctly kinked sutures; the inner cycle appears to have a smooth upper surface and the sutures are less clear but are broadly radial. The central area is spanned by a perforate plate formed from small elements.
