F. schaubii group

Classification: Coccolithophores -> Discoasterales -> Fasciculithaceae -> Fasciculithus -> F. schaubii group
Sister taxa: F. alanii group, F. involutus group, F. schaubii group, F. sp.,

Distinguishing features: Ornate fasciculiths - with prominent fenestrae and sculpted outlines

Daughter taxa: (blue => in age window 0-800Ma)
Large, tall fasciculith; tapers basally, taller than wide; ornamented with large, rectangular fenestrae delineated by longitudinal and transverse ridges
mitre-shaped - distally expanding body surmounted by conical top; few well separated elements
Wide column, which may broaden distally to angular terminations, and distinct distal tapering apical cycle (‘cone’).
Tall fasciculith with narrow tapering column and distinct, distal tapering apical cycle (‘cone’).
Squat, cylindrical fasciculith with deep indentations and fenestrae that result in a stellate outline (5 or 6 points) when viewed distally. Often seen in side view.
