Variants: Braarudosphaera undata Stradner 1959 is similar but has notched apices and only very shallowly indented sides.
Notes & discussion: Comparable to Micrantholithus obtusus Stradner, 1963 described from the Lower Cretaceous.

Distinguishing features: Small to large Micrantholithus with shallowly indented sides and rounded apices.
