Distinguishing features: Broad, pear-shaped to tapering with similar height and width.


Morphology remarks: Pear-shaped nannoconids with wide central cavities and thick walls formed from moderately high-angled (20-45 degrees), and moderately thick, cycles (0.5-1.0µm). Cavities are two to four times the width of the wall.

Geological Range:
Last occurrence (top): within Aptian Stage (112.95-126.30Ma, top in Aptian stage). Data source: Perch-Nielsen 1985a
First occurrence (base): within Late Valanginian Substage (133.88-136.41Ma, base in Valanginian stage). Data source: Bown & Concheyro, 2004
