Octopodorhabdus praevisus

Classification: Mesozoic -> Podorhabdales -> Axopodorhabdaceae -> Octopodorhabdus -> Octopodorhabdus praevisus
Sister taxa: O. decussatus, O. praevisus, O. sp.,

Distinguishing features: Podorhabdid with 8 bars, bars do not parallel the axes.

Citation: Octopodorhabdus praevisus Noël 1965
Rank: Species
Notes & discussion: Noël (1965) noted that this form was very similar to Hexapodorhabdus cuvillieri and this is also clear form the figures of de Kaenel & Bergen 1996. It may simply be a variant of H. cuvillieri with two extra bars (and openings). As in H. cuvillieri there is an opening at each end of the central area, rather than an axial bar. [my interpretation - JRY 2018]
