Parhabdolithus with tall, tapering spine.

Parhabdolithus with very broad, tapering spine.

Parhabdolithus with broad, parallel-sided, bluntly terminated spine. Spine usually terminates just above the rim, and does not exceed twice the rim height.

Elliptical murolith (protolith) with a high, flaring rim composed of non-imbricating elements; the central area is filled by the broad, granular base of a prominent distal process/spine and a proximal grid composed of bars aligned parallel with the short axis of the coccolith.
