Distinguishing features: Elliptical coccolith formed of a single block, with two perforations


Morphology remarks: Described as being formed of one or two blocks by Wise & Wind (1977) but the whole coccolith is clearly formed of mass of crystallites with very similar orientation - similar to modern Helicosphaera holococcoliths
