Taxonomy:

Citation: Pontosphaera clinosulcata Bown, 2005
Rank: Species
Notes & discussion: Similar to P. pectinata but characterized by distinctly inclined pores and furrows.

Distinguishing features: Pontosphaera with plate that has oblique marginal furrows and oblique pores, and larger pores towards the centre; there may be two central longitudinal slits; rim narrow.

Farinacci & Howe catalog pages: Pontosphaera clinosulcata *

Morphology remarks: Medium to large elliptical Pontosphaera with a plate that is scalloped towards its outer edge. The scalloping is defined by narrow inclined ridges, which run inwards towards the centre. There are inclined furrows between the ridges and inclined elongate pores; there may be two central longitudinal slits. The rim is narrow and difficult to distinguish in XPL.
