R. parvula group

Classification: Coccolithophores -> Isochrysidales -> Noelaerhabdaceae -> Reticulofenestra -> R. parvula group
Sister taxa: C. floridanus group, R. bisecta group, R. lockeri group, R. parvula group, R. pseudoumbilicus group, R. reticulata group, R. umbilicus group, R. sp.,

Daughter taxa: (blue => in age window 0-800Ma)
Narrow shield, open central area; inner wall protrudes as discontinuous crown
Very small, coccoliths <2µm
Closed central area. Rather heavily calcified giving irregular form, strongly crenulate margin.

Taxonomy:

Citation: R. parvula group
Rank: species group
Notes & discussion: Small Reticulofenestra specimens are rare in the Quaternary so it is not sure how these modern species are related to fossil Reticulofenestra.

Distinguishing features: Extant Reticulofenestra species - all small
