Daughter taxa: (blue => in age window 0-800Ma)
Medium-sized cuboid nannolith with concave faces and extended corners.

Notes & discussion: Bralower & Bergen 1998 used  the genus Rhomboaster in the Mesozoic for the species R. svabenickiae. This is unfortunate, since although it is very similar to Late Paleocene Rhomboaser the long stratigraphic separation betwen the forms makes it most likely that it is an unrelated homoeomorph.
