Synonyms: S. turris Kamptner, 1955; S. aequatorialis Kamptner, 1963; -these two species are virtually identical to S. lagena. S turris was placed in synonymy with S. lagena by Siesser (1998) 

Distinguishing features: Moderately elevated (3-5x as high as wide) with maximum width near base.
