Distinguishing features: Large (~7 µm), Staurolithites species with bars rotated 10-20° from axial; the bars of this cross are split along their length and flare towards their juncture with the rim.

Morphology remarks: Differentiated from the Eiffellithus species-complex, and E. monechiae in partiular, by its narrower, bright inner cycle that is approximately the same width as the outer cycle, also crossbar structure is simpler.
