Distinguishing features: Small (3-4 µm), rim bicyclic, crosbars bright in 0° position

Morphology remarks: "A small species of Staurolithites with a bicyclic rim, the inner cycle of which is bright. The axial cross appears to be composed of single bars that are bright at 0 ̊, becoming dark upon rotation. Differentiation: This new species is distinguished by its bicyclic rim and the particular simplicity of its cross." [Lees 2007]

Size: Holotype dimensions: L = 3.96μm, W = 3.08μm.
