Sister taxa: R. moeslensis, R. parallelus, S. pseudocarinolithus, R. sp.,

Distinguishing features: Small, with very large spine

Citation: Staurolithites pseudocarinolithus (Applegate & Bergen, 1988) Young & Bown 2014
Rank: Species
Basionym: Vekshinella pseudocarinolithus Applegate & Bergen, 1988
Synonyms: Genus et species indet. 2, Covington and Wise, (1987) - cf. Applegate & Bergen (1988)
Notes & discussion: Apart from the presence of a large calyx this species has obvious similarities to Rhabdophidites parallelus so it seems useful to group them together. [my interpretation - JRY 2020]
