Rank: Species
Basionym: Vekshinella stradneri Rood et al., 1971
Synonyms: The name S. stradneri was recommended by Thierstein (1973) as an  alternative to S. crux - which is based on a holotype from the Eocene. However both names are now in use. It is not clear how authors distinguish them.

Distinguishing features: Small Staurolithites with narrow rim and wide central area spanned by narrow cross bars.


Morphology remarks: Simple, generalized morphology. Can co-occur with S. quadriarcullus and is similar in size but lacks the open spine-base.
