Daughter taxa: (blue => in age window 0-800Ma)
Species of Tintinnabuliformis with two horns
Species of Tintinnabuliformis with one horn

Citation: Tintinnabuliformis Varol 1991
Rank: Genus
Type species: Tintinnabuliformis unicorn Varol 1991
Notes & discussion: Possibly a junior synonym of Lapideacassis but Varol (1991) argued this was unlikely since it does not appear to have a tiered wall, SEM observations are needed to confirm this - or more detailed LM observations. Also Lapideacassis has not previously been recorded later than the Eocene. As a compromise we keep the genus but tentatively include it in the Lapideacassaceae [JRY 2015]

Distinguishing features: Bell shaped nannofossil with basal flange and apical horn(s), formed of single cycle of elements
