Distinguishing features: Large, broadly elliptical with two variably developed central pores that pierce the inner cycle.
Morphology: These coccoliths resemble Watznaueria biporta Bukry, 1969, but are more subcircular in outline and do not routinely display clear pores. Like W. biporta all illustrated speciemns are distinctily large - at least 9µm.
