Original Description
[Translation from the Russian.- Test small, with irregularly rounded outline. Dorsal side markedly flattened, but in its middle portion there is a small convexity - the projectin initial whorl. Ventral side convex toward the peripheral margin, slightly depressed in the middle. Two whorls. Umbilicus open and broad. Peripheral margin rounded, irregularly sinous, rather angular. There are five chambers in the final whorl. Strongly convex on the ventral side and slightly flattened on the dorsal. Chamber dimensions within each whorl increase slightly so that two adjacent chambers seem to be of equal size; the sizes of chambers of different whorls, however, show a disparity. Sutures curved, depressed. Aperture slitlike, extending along the marginal suture from the umbilicus to the peripheral margin. Wall very strongly rugose, densely covered by thick and comparatively large spines, lending a hirsute appearance. [Dimensions . - Diameter 0.20 - 0.26 mm. ; thickness 0.10 - 0.16 mm. This is an extremely varable species. Aside from dimensions, variablility is seen in the number of chambers; the size of the umbilucus, which is from rather narrow to broad and gaping; the outline of dorsal and ventral sides; and the degree of wall spinosity.
