Original Description
This subspecies differs from the typical Blefuscuiana occulta (Hedbergella occulta Longoria, 1974) in possessing 5 to 51/2 rapidly enlarging chambers in the final whorl, compared to the six to seven chambers per whorl of the typical form of the species. On the spiral side, the height of the last chamber is about 45% of the total test diameter, compared to about 30% in B. occulta s. s.

Extra details from original publication
Remarks. This subspecies has been found by us only in the Leupoldina cabri zone (sample 8109) of Speeton and it has not been recorded yet from higher horizons. It appears not to have been observed by Longoria (1974) in his assemblages from the Middle and Late Aptian either of southern Europe or Mexico. It may be restricted to the Boreal realm.
