Original Description
[Translation from the Russian. - Test relatively small, nearly spherical, with a rounded outline. Two whorls. Dorsal and ventral sides roundly convex, with the ventral side considerably more convex, semispheric. Umbilicus small. Peripheral margin broadly rounded, smooth, usually lacking lobation. Most often there are five chambers in the final whorl, very closely adjacent to one another. Chambers in the final whorl almos equal in size. Chambers are rombodial outline on the dorsal side of the test and are triangular on the ventral. Umbilical ends slightly rounded, closely adjacent to one another so that a very small umbilical depression is formed in the middle of the ventral side. Septal sutures simple, depressed. On the dorsal side they are weakly acurate, and, on the ventral they are straight and radial. Spiral suture smooth, weakly depressed. Aperture a curved slit along the marginal suture between the umbilicus and peripheral margin. Wall densely covered by small, short spines which give the test a finely granular appearance. On the ventral side, part of the spines near the umbilicus are slightly larger. [Dimensions . - Diameter 0.20 - 0.35 mm.; thickness 0.08 -0.18 mm. There are individual variations in test structure, especially in the number of chambers in the final whorl. Along with the typical five-chambered with a less broadly rounded peripheral margin; and some which are six- or seven- chambered, more spherical, and with a stongly rounded peripheral margin. Among the variable features is the shape of the apertural face in the final chamber, which is often flattened, and not slightly convex, as is typical of the species.
