Original Description
"Test somewhat longer than wide, dorsal side convex, very slightly lobulate, ventral side typically concave with apertural depression, periphery broad, rounded, lobulate; chambers about eleven in number, inflated, rapidly enlarging; sutures depressed ventrally, less dorsally; wall coarsely reticulate; aperture a narrow opening along the basal margin of last apertural face.
Size: Length up to 0.5 mm.
Etymology: from the Kyushu Region of Japan

This species differs from Globigerina bulloides d'Orbigny (1826) in being more globular with a typically helicoid spire on the dorsal side of test.
