Original Description
Translation from the Russian. - Test conical, dorsal side strongly convex, the first and second whorls having four chambers each; the third whorl has five or six semispherical and sub- spherical chambers. Ventrally, there are six chambers, elongate at the periphery.

Test large, rounded, conical, periphery lobate. Dorsal side consider- ably inflated, largest convexity formed by the chambers of the early whorls. Following the round initial chamber there are three whorls, of which the first has four small chainlike chambers; the second has four semispherical chambers; and in the third there are six inflated chambers, somewhat tapering toward the umbilicus. Ventrally, around the broad, deep umbilicus, there are six inflated chambers of the last whorl, elongate at the periphery. Sutures narrow, nearly straight, depressed. Aperture slitlike, in the final chamber, on the side of the umbilical region. Wall calcareous, densely porous, with numerous spines between them.

Size: Diameter 0.45 mm.; thickness 0.34 mm.

Comparison. - Individual juvenile specimens of the present species are not markedly convex on the ventral side, and have five spherical or moderately elongate chambers in the last whorl; the characteristic feature of adult specimens is the considerable convexity of the early whorls. This variety of Acarinina pentacamerata (Subbotina) [Globorotalia pentacamerata, 1947] differs from the typical form in the lesser number of chambers in the early whorls.
