Original Description
Test large, coiled in moderately low trochospire composed of three volutions of fairly globular chambers that increase gradually in size; usually five chambers in last whorl; umbilicus small, moderately deep, pentagonal in shape; peripheral outline rounded; sutures distinct, radial, deep and straight; primary aperture interiomarginal, umbilical with narrow lip; polygonal ornamentation well developed, usually with equal sized hexagonal frames.

Etymology: from nitidus -a -um (Latin) = neat or elegant.

Remarks: F. nitida, n. sp., is distinguished from all other Fuvnsella species by its completely umbilical aper- ture, by the globular chambers of its last whorl; by its subtrapczoidal chambers spirally; and by its pentag- onally shaped umbilicus. Range: Uppcr Albian. F . washitensis Assemblage Zone: H . implicata Subzone to H . punctatu Subzone. Occurrence: F . nitida, n. sp., is common in the Duck Creek Formation and relatively rare in Fort Worth and Denton Formations of North Ccntrdl Texas.
