Original Description
his form is particularly characterized by its pro- nounced spire and the perfection of the globular shape of the cham- bers, excepting in rare cases when an individual chamber may suffer appression; perforations fine; umbilicus relatively small; aperture must be in the umbilicus and small for the genus, not observed.
Size: Diameter of type specimen, 0.5 mm.; height, 0.37 mm.
Etymology: This species is named for Mr. John Bell.

Occurrence: This species is an exceptionally fine guide fossil for the region, being of rare occurrence in the uppermost Mendez, becoming common in the very base of the Velasco and rapidly diminishing, till disappearing a short distance above the base. This form is of the type generally compared with G. dubia Egger, but differs from Egger's species in the character of coiling, regularity of the chambers and size of the umbilicus and perforations.
