Original Description
Moderate in size, robust; slightly elevated sinistral trochospire, tight parallel and perpendicular to axis. Equatorial outline weakly trilobate; lateral outline weakly spiroconvex. Chambers globular, slightly appressed, at least 8 in total, 3 in final whorl, 4 in second-last whorl; increase moderately rapid. Dorsal view: chambers longer concentrically, slightly inflated; sutures slightly depressed; intercameral sutures directed and curved posteriorly where present. Ventral view: chambers inflated; intercameral sutures curved, meeting at tight umbilicus; aperture umbilical, opposite second-last--third-Iast intercameral suture, a high broad arch with a thick lip. Lateral view: smoothly rounded. Wall densely perforate with connected interpore ridges producing a cancellate surface.
Size: Length, 285 µm; width, 245 µm; height, 225 µm.
Etymology: Latin, prae, before; second component refers to 'Globigerina rubra d'Orbigny'.
