Type locality: Core 5, between 74-84 feet in Bravo well No.5, Yaguate area, Trujillo Province, Dominican Republic.
Type age: Upper Oligocene. Noted in numerous samples between the upper Middle Oligocene and the Upper Oligocene. Abundant.
Type sample and level: Trinchera Formation.

Original Description
Test longer than broad, much compressed, almost equally biconvex, umbilicus shallow, peripheral margin acute, somewhat limbate, the last chambers strongly lobulate; two whorls visible dorsally, the early one closely coiled, the latter one very much less so; six to e ight chamber comprising the last whorl, the chambers increasing rapidly in size as added; spiral suture slightly depressed, sutures somewhat limbate on the dorsal side, slightly depressed on the ventral; wall thick, finely perforate, ventral surface near the aperture with numerous granulations; aperture a slit at the base of the last chamber.

Size: Dimensions of holotype: Diameter, 0.72 mm; thickness, 0.26 mm.

Extra details from original publication
This species differs from Globorotalia menardii (d'Orbigny) (Rotalia menardii d'Orbigny, 1826) in the more pronounced lobulation of the last whorl. TYPE LOCALITY:  TYPE SPECIMEN:
