Original Description
"Test medium sized, consisting of a short spire of up to three whorls of spherical chambers rapidly increasing in diameter, four in the final whorl. The chambers overlap relatively little and are widely separated, giving the effect of being slightly staggered. The final chamber in a minority of adults is a little smaller than the penultimate one. The surfaces of the test are very finely porous and densely and finely spinose and do not have the reticulate ornamentation characteristic of the Globigerinas. The aperture, which opens into the umbilicus, is very small and is hemmed in by the surrounding chambers to such an extent that is difficult to see how it could have functioned effectively. In many samples, numerous specimens have the aperture obscured by strong flattened spines growing out from the bases of the surrounding chambers. Dimensions of holotype, greatest diameter 0.41 mm.
