Original description: Shape of test. Small, trochospiral, spiral side slightly to distinctly convex, equatorial periphery lobate. Wall. Calcareous, finely perforate. The specimens found in the Cuche and Toco formations are invariably pyritized. Chambers. Spherical in early stage, may become slightly compressed laterally in the last whorl; about 10 arranged in 2 1/2 whorls, the usual four chambers in the last whorl increase fairly rapidly in size. Sutures. On spiral and umbilcal side radial, depressed. Umbilicus. Fairly small. Aperture. A distinct, fairly high arch, often with a rim; interiomarginal, umbilical. Coiling. Random.
