Original Description
Test flat on spiral side; chambers globular, 5-6 in final whorl; early chambers finely macroperforate, later chambers microperforate; umbilicus wide, shallow; aperture narrow, extraumbilical-peripheral.

Etymology: "patefacio,"" to open up, to make accessible."
