Original description: Plate 6 shows that in the lower part of the sedimentary pile single-keeled globotruncanids are present, and this appears to be the most important in the evolution of their systematic standing are connected by intermediary forms with G. linnei (d'Orbigny) [Rosalina linneiana (linnei), 1839]. For this reason they cannot be combined with Globotruncana stuarti (de Lapparent) [Rosalina stuarti, 1918] which appear distinctly much later. For this reason I place these oldest forms temporarily in the Globotruncana forms and describe them as Globotruncana appenninica.
