Ticinella roberti

Classification: pf_mesozoic -> Rotaliporidae -> Ticinella -> Ticinella roberti
Sister taxa: T. madecassiana, T. moulladei, T. praeticinensis, T. primula, T. raynaudi, T. roberti, T. sp.

Taxonomy

Citation: Ticinella roberti (Gandolfi, 1942)
Rank: Species
Basionym: Anomalina roberti
Taxonomic discussion: This species differs from T. eubejaouaensis in having fewer chambers in the last whorl, a comparatively smaller umbilical cavity and accessory apertures are generally more conspicuous. T. roberti is most probably the ancestor of Biticinella breggiensis through intermediate specimens with relict apertures on the spiral side (Sigal, 1966) and a depressed spiral side and a larger umbilical area (Lipson-Benitah and Almogi-Labin, 2000). Numero delle camere all'ultimo giro 8-9.
