Lithocorythium sp. neptune records: 1 |
Catalog entries: Lithocorythium
Original description: Testae stricturae plures. Postremo articulo integro. Appendicibus mediis nullis. Apertura cancellata.
Translated description: Test with more than one stricture. Last segment entire. With no median appendages. Aperture latticed. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]
Remarks on original description: [Campbell [1954, p.D143] regards Lithocorythium as an objective synonym of Lithobotrys Ehrenberg, 1844a. However, this seems inappropriate as the type species of Lithobotrys [Lithobotrys quadriloba Ehrenberg, 1844a] was not among those species assigned to Lithocorythium at the time of its generic definition. Species included at that time are Lithobotrys galea Ehrenberg, 1844a and Lithocorythium oxylophos Ehrenberg, 1847b.]
