Original description: Shell rather large without distinct apical spine and basal feet. Shell composed of large pores, sagittal ring D shaped, some lateral bars are perforated by small pores. Latticed shell comparably delicate, the surface of almost all pore bars with small short spines
(Based on 7 specimens) Maximum width of shell 96-140 µ and height of shell 66-72 µ. Distinguishing characters (rw): Liriospyris insulae is distinguished from Liriospyris geniculosa (Goll 1968, p. 1427, pl. 175, figs. 21-24) by having rather thin-walled shell composed of irregular pores around the lateral bars and the upper part of the basal ring.
