Description

Distinguishing features: Plagiacanthids without distinct lattice wall, consisting of the primary spicules with various branches or loose meshwork.


Morphology remarks:
no clear formal definition in Hertwig. De Wever et al. 2001: Apoaxoplastidian skeleton represented exclusively by the initial spicule with, or without, connecting arches, or a very loose cephalic shell
