Original Description
Testa duabus pluribusve stricturis articulata. Corporis postremo fine non arctato. Appendicibus a secundo articulo, alarum instar, productis.


Translation: Test segmented by two or more strictures. Body not narrowed at posterior end. Appendages produced from the second segment, in the form of wings. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Etymology: From the Greek pterocodon = bell with wings"
