This form, of rather small size, presents a neck of medium length (one third of the total length), terminating in a fairly wide, straight opening, gradually widening upwards. The chamber is elongated and terminates in a thin, transparent copula. In some individuals, the external wall forms a kind of tunic that appears to envelop the entire chitinozoan, and is more or less separated from the copula.
Distinguishing features: Parent taxon (Pellichitina): ovoid chamber enveloped by a membranous sleeve. This taxon:
Small, elongate chamber, long neck, thin transparent copula; outer wall may form a weak sleeve-like envelope.
NB These concise distinguishing features statements are used in the tables of daughter-taxa to act as quick summaries of the differences between e.g. species of one genus. They are being edited as the site is developed and comments on them are especially welcome.

Plot of occurrence data: NB The ranges given for genera and higher taxa are the total ranges of species included in that taxon in this database - so the true total range of the taxon will usually be longer
Range-bar - range as quoted above, pink interval top occurs in, green interval base occurs in.
Triangles indicate an event for which a precise placement has been suggested. Parent: Pellichitina
