Taxonomy:

Citation: Blackites bullatus Bown, 2005
Taxonomic rank: species
Taxonomic discussion: Similar to Blackites globosus but with a narrower spine, and Blackites rotundus but has a broader, more rounded spine, and an outer rim cycle that does not lie distally above the inner cycle.

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (B. inflatus group): Spine inflated with maximum width above base, many with conspicous bulge
This taxon: Rhabdolith with a hollow bulb-shaped spine (maximum width similar to that of the coccolith); the rim is relatively broad and the outer cycle does not lie distally over the inner cycle.
