Lithraphidites aichmoides

Classification: ntax_mesozoic -> Nannoliths inc sedis -> Microrhabdulaceae -> Lithraphidites -> Lithraphidites aichmoides
Sister taxa: L. carniolensis ⟩⟨ L. charactozorro, L. grossopectinatus, L. kennethii, L. praequadratus, L. quadratus ⟩⟨ L. acutus, L. alatus, L. pseudoquadratus ⟩⟨ L. houghtonii, L. moray-firthensis ⟩⟨ L. aichmoides, L. magnus, L. pugio, L. bollii, L. sp.

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Lithraphidites): Bladed, rod-shaped nannoliths typically tapering at both ends and with a cruciform cross-section and variably developed lateral projections; crystallographic c-axis perpendicular to length
This taxon: Very large (15–25 μm long, 3-4 µm wide), dagger-shaped; outline is slightly convex. width decreases slowly before tapering toward the point.
