Taxonomy:
Both these species weredescribed from the same material as S. hemirana and the holotypes appear very similar. S. hemirana has page pririoty and is based on the clearest holotype. [JRY 2016]
Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Scyphosphaera): Coccospheres with Pontosphaera-like body coccoliths and equatorial coccoliths with rims elevated into vase-like structures (lopadoliths).
