Nannotax3 - ntax_cenozoic - Hornibrookina sp.

Synonyms:

Nodosella elegans Perch-Nielsen 1981 -this is clearly a Hornibrookina but it is not clear which of the various described species the specimens best belong under. [my interpretation - JRY 2018]

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Hornibrookina): Elliptical placoliths with bicyclic distal shields with raised tube cycle and central area grill formed from robust bars.
This taxon: Specimens which cannot be assigned to any established species

Geological Range:
Last occurrence (top): within NP10 zone (54.17-55.86Ma, top in Ypresian stage). Data source: same as genus
First occurrence (base): within NP1 zone (65.47-66.04Ma, base in Danian stage). Data source: same as genus
