Original description: Skelet eine ganz reguläre Gitterkugel, aus regelmäfsig sechseckigen gleichen Maschen mit sehr feinen Zwischenbalken gebildet, mit oder ohne radiale Stacheln. Die kugelige farblose Centralkapsel enthält kleine helle Bläschen und in der Mitte eine grofse Binnenblase und wird im Centrum der Gitterkugel schwebend erhalten durch die zahlreichen von ihr ausstrahlenden Pseudopodien, welche theils an die innere Oberfläche des Gitters sich ansetzen, theils durch dessen Maschen hindurchtreten.
