Taxonomic discussion: This morphotype illustrated by Cros & Fortuno 2002 appears to be a distinct species. We have termed it Calyptrosphaera sp. cf. heimdaliae following Cros & Fortuno (2002), but it is also similar to C. galea

Distinguishing features: Low wall with domal cover, ring of small perforations at base of cover and an apical perforation
