Citation: Gephyrocapsa ericsonii (McIntyre & Bé, 1967)
Rank: Species
Basionym: Gephyrocapsa ericsonii McIntyre & Bé, 1967
Taxonomic discussion: In the fossil record Gephyrocapsa specimens <3µm long are usually simply identified as "small Gephyrocapsa"

Distinguishing features: Very small species of Gephyrocapsa; bridge at high to intermediate angle to short axis; wide central area, thin bridge.

Farinacci & Howe catalog pages: G. ericsonii * , G. crassipons * , G. undulatus *

Size: Coccospheres, 3 to 5 µm; coccoliths, 1.4 to 2.3 µm long.

Cultures: strains of this species are maintained in culture, for details see Roscoff culture collection.
