Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Lucianorhabdus): Holococcoliths with a proximal plate of four blocks and tall, hollow spines, which are often ridged or pitted and may be bulbous or curved.
This taxon: Small (4-6 µm) Lucianorhabdus with short conical, bluntly-terminated process. 


Morphology: "A small species of Lucianorhabdus? with a relatively short, hollow spine that terminates bluntly and at an angle. The small base-plate rim is relatively thick and the plate has a thin proximal cycle. The base-plate is perforate and contains a structure that is not discernable. Differentiation: Other lucianorhabdids do not possess the central structure that is hinted at as lying beneath the spine-base. The short spine and its angled termination is distinctive." [Lees 2007]

Size: Holotype dimensions: H = 4.40μm, W = 4.40μm.
