Distinguishing features: Large podorhabdid with central area spanned by eight bars that delineate eight large perforations that run either side of the longitudinal axis. Central hollow spine.

Taxonomic discussion: Probably a junior synonym of O. reinhardtii (Bukry 1969), but arguably useful for particluarly large (>12µm) mid Cretaceous forms.
