Podorhabdus sp. Specimens not identified to species level |
Taxonomy:
Farinacci & Howe catalog pages: Podorhabdus + *
Distinguishing features: Sub-circular, rim broad; central area spanned by a granular bar supporting a broad, tall, hollow, flaring spine.
Morphology: Described by Noël (1965) as having four ‘pillars’ but the type species holotype image shows just two (see discussion in Wise and Wind, 1977). Furthermore, Podorhabdus grassei may be a junior synonym of Rhabdolithus patulus Deflandre, 1954, which was designated the type species of Discorhabdus by Noël (1965).
